Michael Vick wants a dog. Simply put: No. Certainly not anytime soon. After his conviction on dogfighting charges he was barred from having a dog until, at the very least, his probation was complete. While we at DogExplorer.com have a belief in rehabilitation, there are circumstances such as the Michael Vick case where the demonstrated lack of decision making; of knowing right from wrong; the absence of compassion and care for the well being and prevention of suffering of others, overrides our hope for Vick’s rehabilitation.
In our opinion, he found pleasure watching pain inflicted on innocent animals in a manner close to many definitions of a psychopath (Psychopathy was, until 1980, the term used for a personality disorder characterized by an abnormal lack of empathy combined with strongly amoral conduct but masked by an ability to appear outwardly normal.
