DogExplorer.com News – Reports of vomiting and kidney problems have prompted the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Natural Balance Pet Foods to recall Venison & Brown Rice Dry Dog Food and Venison & Green Pea Dry Cat Foods.
According to the FDA website, the pet food manufacturer has not identified the source of the problem, but the reports are sufficient to justify a recall.
All dates of Venison & Brown Rice Dry Dog Food and Venison & Green Pea Dry Cat Food are being recalled despite the belief that the problem is limited to a single production lot.
Natural Balance is advising consumers to stop feeding all Venison & Brown Rice Dry Dog Food and Venison & Green Pea Dry Cat Foods to their pets until further notice.
No link is known between this issue and the melamine contaminated Menu Foods wheat gluten-related recall at this time.
