www.DogExplorer.com News – June 28, 2006 – Eddie, the Parson Russell terrier dog known to millions from the television sitcom Frasier has passed away at age 16. It’s a tribute to his popularity that news of his passing is being reported by all major news agencies and wire services.

There is some dispute as to the dog’s actual age. And his actual name was really Moose, not Eddie. Some news outlets are also calling him a Jack Russell terrier but that breed term is no longer officially used by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Jack Russell was Parson John Russell and the AKC now calls all Jack Russell terriers Parson Russell terriers in his honor.

The confusion over Moose’s (Eddie’s) age stems from comments made by his trainer Mathilde Halberg to People Magazine and the television program Access Hollywood. The little star passed away on June 22, 2006, and according to Halberg, at the age of 16 and a half. However, some reports put his age at 15.

Moose appeared in 192 episodes of Frasier and starred in the feature film My Dog Skip in 2000.
