There has been a voluntarily recall of a limited number of PEDIGREE Complete Nutrition Small Crunchy Bites bags due to concerns about salmonella contamination. Only product sold in California and Nevada is involved, and only dog food sold in Costco and Albertson’s stores. The Pedigree brand is made by Mars Petcare, who issued a statement saying, “There have been no complaints or reports of injury resulting from consumption or handling of the recalled product.” Here are the key facts according to statements issued by Mars Petcare: This effects dog food purchased in California and Nevada only. Bird Flu Found In Suffolk UK Turkeys

DogExplorer.com News – Officials have confirmed that the highly pathogenic H5N1 type of Bird Flu was found in turkeys on a farm in East Anglia, Suffolk, United Kingdom. Fred Landeg, Acting Chief Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Laboratories Agency, says the infection consists of the Asian highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 strain related to virus found over the Summer in the Czech Republic and Germany.
