Houston, TX — Thailand has confirmed the first known case of H5N1, or Asian bird flu, in a dog. “We have found that a dog was infected by the H5N1 virus,” says Nittaya Chanruangmahaphol of the Thailand Health Ministry. The details are sketchy concerning the canine, but the case has been confirmed by two Thai universities, and local newspapers report the dog is still alive. Dog Crashes Car In China While Taking Lessons

A woman living in China’s Inner Mongolian Autonomous Regional city of Hohhot decided to teach her dog to drive, according to the official government Xinhua News Agency. Either the woman, only described as Li, was not a very good teacher, or her dog was a poor student. While Li controlled the gas pedal and brake the dog had a go at steering. Perhaps the canine student driver was expecting UK traffic rules as the pair quickly crashed head-on with another car. Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue In Long Beach Raided

Wednesday, August 23, 2006 – www.DogExplorer.com – Breaking News: Local broadcast news media is televising a raid of the Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue in Long Beach, California. A reporter stated that police were drawn to the facility while in the area on an unrelated matter due to the strong smell of urine. According to the reporter, on entry the police found conditions meeting the legal definition of animal cruelty and arrested Alexiea Kyrklund as a responsible party.
