The Ventura Pooch Parade 2013 will be held on July 21, 2013, from 9 am through 4 pm at San Buenaventura State Beach Park. The 2013 Pooch Parade will be the sixteenth event held to benefit the good work done in dog rescue by the Ventura-based Canine Adoption and Rescue League, or CARL, as it is also known.

Yoda, the 2011 winner of the Sonoma-Marin World’s Ugliest Dog Contest has died according to reports. Apparently the 15 year old Chihuahua-Chinese Crested mutt mix died in her sleep 10 March 2012. Her owner found her as a stray behind an apartment building though at first she believed she was looking at a rat, not a tiny, future World’s Ugliest Dog champion.
